What is addykulture lol yes all that she named is nothing different from the other islands you need to offer something different tourist are not just cash cows to offer anythi ng too. Notice how she not mention the ppol or the culture music and food st vince t boring AF!!
The fact is the Caribbean is not in the economic control of the black majority, add to that is limited access to capital and even more important the big players in mass tourism are a club, and this country club is exclusive, the only black faces in the salon are servants. To change this, target the diaspora for cultural tourism, leave the sun and sand to the pale bodies, concentrate on music, food, history and good old human contacts, encourage homestays, small hotels and guest houses, small bars and restaurants, ignore the chain hotels and food and drink establishments.no cruise ships, no hard rocks,no 4 seasons.you get my drift.more carnivals, family excursions, nature hikes, music festivals.
Be careful what you wish for! Tourism is many islands main industry but not always a good thing for any place. Well, more tourists means higher cost for goods and services. I know it first hand because I lived in the U.S. Virgin Islands. Look that what is happening in Barcelona with the locals attacking tourists due to housing shortages and inflation of goods and services. It is a very difficult situation for developing countries. There needs to be a balance in order to protect the locals. St. Lucia is so overpriced, try going to their supermarkets and even the locals want everything in US dollars 💵 They definitely price gouging the tourist, fact experienced it first hand. They are hurting from higher prices and are intern inflicting it on the tourist. A woman in St. Lucia, try to sell me a tiny bag of chips for $5 US dollars. I just ran from her stall. 😮 I am just saying st. Vincent may seems backwards but it may just be for the best. I would prefer to travel there over Barbados or St. Lucia because it still lesser developed and people have not been tainted by over tourism. Human beings never think of long term consequences, we always want what someone else has because we are suffering. However, it may not be the best option because the consequences are far more severe. Just sayin!
I lived in Grenada for 4yrs and visited St Vincents which is a very similar island....the problem is their government which is beyond corrupt...they secretly believe in Obeah black magick and practice it. The leaders are exceptionally wicked and greedy and profit from keeping the citizens in poverty and strife....they don't care about tourism, they care about selling off premium land to foreigners, especially China and keeping the drug rings in operation...running cocaine from Trinidad is big business and the government has their hands in it trust me. I left Grenada because the domestic violence against women is disgusting and the government isn't doing anything about that either...majority of men feel women are their property and most DV ends up in the death of that woman. Recently two men escaped from prison and kidnapped an elderly couple from America who were yachting, took their boat and murdered them....this is the real reason nobody wants to go to Grenada or St Vincent
Also what’s important to note is that Caribbean countries are not asking for new citizens….theyre merely asking you to visit not stay. Americans , Canadians and Brits moving there are driving up the cost of living in countries like Belize. This consequently is swiftly moving people into poverty.
Tourism is a blessing and a curse. Look at Jamaica who citizens are being blocked from their beaches by hotels. All beaches are supposed to be public but that is not the reality on the island
If you haven't been to Bequia 🇻🇨 you haven't lived!!! #Paradise#bequia However it's sad how they block off and keep out the locals from getting ahead 🙌🏾 St. Vincentians on main island cannot even visit or these places unless they are Laborers 😢
My theory is that the government is being "persuaded" by the uber rich and famous not to encourage mass tourism. Mustique and Canouan are where the billionaires go to escape the millionaires, and they don't want Joe Average turning up to spoil their vacation
St Vincent is quite ugly, I'm sorry guys it's not the citizens fault but your govt does nothing to beautify the island. Now the Bequai and mystique island areas are nice so at minimum, they could start there.
Men,especially the caliber of men with the time and resources to travel,go to places where the women have caught their attention. The women can't be the only attraction, but guys are not going to Brazil,Colombia, and The Phillipines for the beaches.
Tourism is a dangerous double-edged-sword. Yes, those tourists bring their $$Money, but they also bring their germs, obnoxious behaviors, entitlement attitudes, & GUARANTEED TRASH & ENVIRONMENTAL DAMAGE.
Yes they can do more for tourism and it needs to stop blocking people and charging people and controlling people it's too much enough is enough You're actually killing people

I thought that they catered to a particular financial sector in dealing with tourism
Come on, people visit St Vincent now.
The whole place is a cesspool bad government

Until the hurricane last week I had never heard of ST Vincent.

The people are taking it back now no corporate state de facto governments!!!
Be careful what you ask for...
St Vincent is a hidden gem! And I’m from Barbados…the falls the sights - gorgeous. They’re sitting on this natural paradise asleep at the wheel!
Cruiseships do not bring business to any Islands. We need stayovers ..that increases tourism spend.

Bequia was the best vacation I've had 🇻🇨❤
